Wednesday morn

I am so grateful to have a sister in law who when I stopped by last night after my walk, looked at me, said I needed a haircut and got out the sissors when she completed her infusion. She's been so good to me from the moment we met.

I am grateful to have been taught to say yes sometimes instead of coming up with all the reasons why I can't. I ran into the minister at the drugstore. He invited me to become a formal member of the church on Easter Sunday and altho I could have the fears, I didn't voice them or give them strength I just said thank you that would be nice, I'll be dressed up anyway. Well, it is about how I look sometimes!

Had a nice conversation with him. I thought from hearing his sermons that he knew something about recovery and he does. He didn't tell me his story. He asked me about me, he had called after Lonny died. We talked a bit about how I am mostly ok cause of the strong support system I have. Where in the world would I be if not for long time friends and my fellowship of the program? Probably dead, medicated and dead inside or deep in despair still.

I had attended his church a number of times but hesitated joining cause Harold belongs to a different church and oh dear how would it LOOK if I belonged to a different church, not his? Anyway, I find I resonate with what he says more than other places I've gone and I love the insides of this church, how open and spacious and wonderful music. Whenever I go there I feel reconnected with my Grandma who cared very much for me and took me to her church which later became mine.

Come to find DM (Darling Man) does not have faith, does not pray and only went to church because his girls did and now he goes to accompany me. So it really doesn't matter on several levels--including how it LOOKS to others and so I made a call to this one I'm joining and so it goes I'm joining Sunday.

I'm sure I need new shoes for the occassion! We are headed to the Strip in Pittsburgh on Saturday--I'm sure I'll find a pair or two most appropriate there!

Enjoy your today everyone!

Actually it's about how you think you look...and that's always a reason to buy new shoes. :-)
