Monday morning blessings
This morning I find myself grateful for:
-Last nights meeting with only women present and the meeting after the meeting
-playing with Lily before coming into the office
- after 4 days of waking at 4am I finally slept til almost 5
- I get to do this thing called life because I get to do this thing called recovery
- today is the only day I have to be in the office this week
what humbles me today:
-I remember what it was like to have a child in jail and sigh aloud "but he is alive"
-all I really have to do today is walk humbly with God and everything else falls into place. I get to share with others whats worked for me after what a mean screaming fishwife I used to be.
-my husband deflecting me with humor at every turn of crankiness or relentlessness I present. What a miracle that I get to be married to this man today.
What hurts my heart today:
-the disease rages on in so many households and they haven't been touched by a message of hope yet
-how many times I detached with an axe instead of love
-when a beautiful young woman with 3 programs calls me asking me whats wrong with her instead what is so good, wonderful and loving. She has grown soooo and it hurts that she doesn't see it yet. Seems nothing is 'wrong' except God is asking her to step up again.
-how many are looking toward the holiday with dread rather than joy
Great joy today:
I am alive. I am not depressed. The program of AA works for so many and that AA has shared the way it works with Alanon. I have a program that works and I am not fighting it today.
Enjoy your today

Oh what a wonderful guy to see the humor in it all. That is a great characteristic, Mitch is like that too! Thank goodness for his outlook.
You have some authentic balance. It is like a rainy, gloomy day. How else would we really enjoy the sun and its warmth if we never missed it :)
I hope you enjoy your day.
