nasty cold
How I've been is having a nasty cold for the last week now. Started last Fri nite. No sleep weekend didn't help. Nor did staying overnite in a house with 4 cats. Not complaining, just don't always know how to do things differently.
Heading this weekend to a Spring Retreat up past Pittsburgh---NW PA, Erie area. Silly Alanons never heard me speak and yet they asked me to speak Sat nite. Been told its only about 45 people. And I KNOW none of them. I've met 2 here in WV at our convention the last years-- Well, God must want me there, I'm going. Last week surrounded by those who know and love me and this weekend with strangers who should love me in a special way. Hopefully I'll get out of myself and just be of service.
Did I mention my new hot flashes? Damn this aging thing is already getting old. Oh, and so am I. Last night DM headed off to bed around 9 saying he did just turn 54. Of course he was up at 6am exercising on the tramp for an hour and took a long long bike ride last night after working all day. Old, ha!
Saw the young couple that bought the house next door, why didn't they buy ours? Oh well, they are young and will fix up the dirty little house---I didn't ever want a new townhouse when I was young--did I?
Yes, Helena looks and also acts alot like Lonny as a small child. She warms my heart and gives such joy. I miss her brand of fun.
Off to doing Friday and staying under Friday's umbrella of hopefully God's will for me instead of my own. Enjoy your weekend.

Oh Christine you made me laugh this morning! I was asked to speak at a meeting on Sunday (past), did it, felt OK.
I am so glad that I am past the hot flashes...started in my mid thirties, I wish I could be that quick to get other things done LOL.

Hope that you're feeling better soon. I'm sure that your talk will be great. Yeah, aging is hard but most of time I feel like 30. Never had hot flashes of the kind that you write about....

Yeah, I'm with ya on the cold thing. Started Tuesday, and I know I'm in for a doozy. Jess & Renee have been sick and Jess had a severe allergic reaction to amoxicillan Monday nite and ended up in the ER in anaphylactic shock...SCAREY!!! All is well now except for the snottiness..both his and mine. Perhaps this is why you were so cranky last Thursday?? Hot flashes are temporary, m'dear, they too, do pass.

shhhhhh listen girl, you put a stand up fan right beside your bed, then you face away from it, and keep your bo-hiney out from under the covers...and facing the fan. For some reason, when my butt is freezing it helps the hot flashes....just trying to pass on a little of the knowledge.
Hope you feel better soon. And I prefer to speak when it is to strangers.
Get well and I am having hot flashes now too. Its a bitch when all parts don't work as good. I know and I mean my arms and legs.
