contrary actions con't
It is just so freeing to do things I don't "want" to do. How can that be? I don't knnow how it works, I just know it works. Not magically like some thinking I've had in the past. But trusting, which by the way was the topic of last night's meeting. Not trusting myself or my thinking---geez we know how distorted my thinking can be. But trusting God, my sponsor, the process of recovery...
So at my home group meeting last night I announced I am out of town for the whole week, have a new cell phone # and would welcome any calls. 4 people came up to me after the meeting for the #. What a blessing! And one of the women, I've been wanting to know better--she's younger and has 2 boys the same age apart as mine. She does little talking in the meeting but when she does say something she's on the mark.
So here I go. Praying they give me an end room this time at the hotel so the wireless works-- I'm so grateful theres so many ways to be connected today instead of isolated like I used to make myself be.
Still packing...gone from one extreme (being prepacked for a week) to the other( last minute) to someday will balance out.
Enjoy your today enjoy your week--I'm off to be trained how to be a leader training others how to be a leader---fun stuff!

ok, so I think the packing thing is a function of age...I USED to prepack weeks...yes, sometimes even MONTHs in advance. Get to my destination, and although my suitcases weren't lacking a thing, I was so over packed that I'd end up going home with better than half the clothes I took being unworn. NOW...I pack the night before, if I'm lucky. I always have my bathroom bag packed...make sure I have clean underwear for every day and one or two interchangeable outfits depending on how long I'm going away and I always pack a bathing suite cuz the hotel just might have a jaccuzzi or a pool. I've managed to condense a weeks worth of packing in to a carry on bag and I generally lack for nothing because it suddenly dawned on me that if I was missing something, either I didn't really need it OR...surprise, surprise, most towns and cities do have stores :-)
Have a most awesome time on your road trip!!
Miss you!!!
I just take the bare essentials when I go. Maybe it's a man thing. Don't know for sure. Have a good trip. Isn't bureaucracy fun?

I'm sure you're a great leader, Christine. Enjoy yourself.
Trust that the INternet will be up and running in your hotel room :) If not, then there is a reason.
I had a similar exerience on Sunday night to which you speak of. How amazing the results when we do things we just don't want to do. I love it.
Hope to see you connect. Muah!
