smooth sailing Saturday

Ha!

What I want to do is complain, compare and condemn here at this moment. But I won't.

My days are not going smoothly. If this is my new state of mind, I'm in big big trouble. The cookies are awful. 3 batches out of 6 turned out use able. Had someone here to help but we were born the same day different years with the same ditzyness. Is that how to spell it? Ditsy. Thats what I've been.

First batch measured the shortening incorrectly. When the second batch turned out just right I got cocky and tried to make a double batch. Measured something wrong cause they turned out to tast good but look horrible. So onto a differnt cookie. DOuble batch of those, good so far, forgot them in the oven a little too long. Not burnt. The cookie exchange is tomorrow.

Suited up and showed up for Nancy yesterday evening. Didn't want to. Did it anyhow. Contrary actions you know. Her husband for 20 years, divorced for 1 died from the disease earlier this week. DM and I went for the gathering for a bit. Its what we do for friends right? I hope Nancy doesn't drink over this, she's sober about a year.

Dilemma now. Go out and shop--translated--go to stores, stand there mesmerized and then wander arond aimlessly until something clicks. Will it click? I need to be ready for a holiday party I am putting on for work on Tuesday. My boss is coming up for it.

One day at a time. It is only Saturday. Staying in Saturday. Will ask Harold to help me. He is so kind, so patient and loving to me. Its me that hates me this way. Wonder if anyone else even notices?

If it doesn't snow, sleet or shit tonite I am going square dancing. Square dancing on a Saturday. Oh yeh baby, I'll be dancin' dancin' At least I won't have to try to think. I'll just be dancin' stayin' in today
