ambition
True ambition is not what we thought it was. True ambition is the profound desire to live usefully and walk humbly under the grace of God.

Watched the movie Spanglish last nite on video. It is very good by the way.
In it the woman seeks to blame her Mother for what she is today because her mother was an alcoholic and promiscious. I expected a different reaction than what came next. Her mother tweaks her nose and says something like how her life experiences will help her the daughter now in her life and gives her the words to say to stop the escalation of the drama and push her husband further away.
In another movie we watched--it was movie nite at my house, a kind of date nite--in Adaptation-- I heard that it is nnot by others who love us that we are defined but in who and how we love.
True ambition is not what I thought it was. It is not in blaming others for where I come from or how I got to be who I am or seeking others to love me for what I do (power, money and prestige)--it is in a humble walk I hope to learn how to do.

Transporer..have ya seen it?
Great no brainer action movie in a beautiful European setting.
It is funny how many mis-interpretations we have and then we discover the true meaning.
My sweetheart and I were talking about strength. Many think that big muscles on a man translate into "Wow, that man is strong." However the man with big muscles lacks endurance, speed, core strength -- true strength.
A gymnist may not appear muscular, actually appear "thick" and small, but they sure engulf strength. I am not sure if my message is coming along but I realte it to your post. I am thankful that we can be open to changing our perceptions.
You allow me to be humble and learn.
I loved Spanglish. That was a great movie. I like reading your breakdown of it.
Thanks~
