saturated Saturday

Going to go stir apple butter this morning.

Dinnertime another potluck--about a dozen of 'em in these 2 weeks for AA and Alanon anniversary meetings, Fri nite dinners, district meetings and more--- this afternoon/eve Roni will be here from PA and do a natural skin care party here.

Tonite I get to dance!!! Whole bunches of us going to square dance tonite.

Darling husband in OH today for a barbershop chorus competition. He kissed me goodbye about 4am and won't return until late tonite.

Open AA last nite I got to see & hug Josh--he has 9 months now, had a slip but he's back in. Its miracles I see in the rooms---its awesome to see the light go on in someone's face and eyes and I guess their life. And his Mom introduced me to her daughter, Josh's sister Mindy who is in the 28 day program now. A family in rcovery.

A 23 year old Eddie sat behind me. He's been in the 28 day for 2 and 1/2 weeks now. We chatted and I looked for the hope in his eyes instead of the envy in my heart. My Nik is till 23 til Christmas.

Yesterday I got to be with seniors in the morning and at the elementary/middle school in the afternoon. At the school I could have but didn't cry and cry. Such innocence and enthusiasm in those kids and yet I know some of them asr suffering in their homes. I saw a girl with a black eye and ya know I saw me in her bruises and youth. No one knew outside my house what was happening on the inside. Not quite true. Some of the neighbors knew but were powerless I guess cause they didn't do anything. Not long ago NWChick wrote of her reprting an incident. There are some who will take the risk. And that girls black eye could have been a playtime accident. As my sponsor tells me often---I don't know dick.

My life is good. I am so very blessed and I am doing what I can to stay with that attitude of gratitude. Just for today.
