TGIF

Altho I have to work all day tomorrow I am still grateful it is a new day and that it is Friday.

We had some nasty storms last evening but we didn't lose power like north of us. 80,000 without power up in southwest PA. Winds created lots of damage and they had flooding too. Only about 18,000 still without it this morning.

Got an ask to be a Sunday School teacher but I'm going to decline. Lots of reasons, plate already too full, I never worked with little kids, biggest reason is tho is I am not in town every Sunday to make that commitment. Also got an ask to be nominated to CASA state board. Said yes immediately. I have not been able to be willing to volunteer for CASA Court Appointed Special Advocate cause of the way I grew up neglected and abused. I would have thought the opposite to be true that I would want to volunteer for them. But what I found was I wanted to give, provide, rescue, all kinds of emotions that get in the way of reporting to a court hearing objectively. But my exec dir friend understood/understands and asked me to do this instead. That way I could be involved on the strategic level where I have skills and can do the most good instead of working directly with kids themselves.

Yesterday was a big day in some ways. But I spent the afternoon letting go of what I cannot change and spent a whole long afternoon making cards and then dinner. For date nite we polished off an 8x8 pan of No Pudge Brownies. Yum. And I slept a whole night long. Even better.

Today I will concentrate on what I can change and prepare for the training for tomorrow. Lily and family will be in this weekend. I hope they stay here some. Tonite is dinner I am hoping for some fellowship and then onto the open AA meeting.
My life is full, even good. enjoy your today

Congrats on the CASA thing. Very important work and I'm sure you'll make a difference. Far beyond what you'll realize.

I have wanted to be a CASA volunteer, but don't think that is really my niche in life. I am glad there are people for which it is.
