Thursday's blessings

Blessed:

that the car has 4 wheel drive AND snow tires
for a flat road to and from Catawba
for the phone call about the property
for having been down this road before and quietly cautious
for it being 11 years since I smoked a cigarette
that my throat and ears hurt but I'm not really sick
that I can pray
that I have a good job
that some days I don't act like an ass
for the days I do but I am forgiven anyway
that WVU won the game today
because they won people will not be mad or close to violence
for answered prayers
for not gaining any weight over the holidays
that I don't know how I managed that
that I don't care as much as I once did
about the weight and about other things
that I can try to follow God's Will for me today
rather than all the many conflicting ways others minds might have me go
that all I have is today
yesterday is past
it is not a bad hair day
or a bad Christine day
it is just a day
and it might get better
as the day wears on
that I get to go to a meeting tonite
it might not be the meeting I want it to be
but the doors will be open, coffee on, fellowship there
maybe a newcomer or two
thanking God today
