another Thursday

Got in the car again today for a home visit to a family in Mineral County. Met up in Morgantown with the social worker from another office. We drove together from there.
We don't know each other well. We aren't in the car a half hour when she tells me her story of her broken engagement but still liveing with him and by the way he's an alcoholic. Active. Her answer is to get rid of him. I suggest Alanon. She's heard of it but didn't know it could be for her. Such classic resentments she holds onto and her reactions, oh I know them oh so well. How awesome I got to 12th Step her.

Another Thursday. Tonite realtor coming to list the townhouse. If it doesn't sell--altho realtor is certain it shall--then we will rent it out. Don't have a closing date on the other house but it should be in 2 to 3 weeks. We'll refinish the floors before we move in. In just a few more Thursdays I'll be walking to my Thursday nite meeting. We'll be living about 2 blocks from it.

Another Thursday nite meeting tonite. Sponsee told me what the meeting last week was like. I'm chair tonite. SO that means I open the doors, set up, open the meeting, do the topic. There are no service positions in this meeting. I wish I had more sponsees who have worked their Steps and Traditions so we can start a Stepped Up meeting. Patience. Patience. I've waited 6 years to start one and still not even have 1 sponsee in their Steps. Patience.

Thank God I got filled up at the CT AA Conference. Awesome speakers! Peter M from NJ. Sandy B from FL and Clancy I from CA. Got to be around a different level of Alanon recovery than what is available here. Oh I wish I were closer to get some more more often.
