blessed on Thursday morning
waking without alarms
praying as soon as I know I am awake
finally feel my energy back, more rested, less frantic inside
window open & listening to the birds
signed papers for closing of first loan in process to closing on the next house, probably next week.
Excited about heading to TX in Feb 2009 for Vannoy's 40th Alanon birthday and Pat's 46th-- north of Dallas--anyone close to there?
One Day at a Time is a daily reader found at most Alanon meetings. If you can't find it at your meetings, you can go online and pick one up on the world service website:
http://www.al-anon.alateen.org/ and you should be able to find it there under publications. Courage to Change is ok, good--I merely prefer the message in ODAT, the Big Book of AA and the AA 12x12. I change the word alcohol to 'control' or 'alanonism' where it says alcohol and alcoholism.
Did I tell you about the party we're having for DM for his 55th? 55/Stayin' Alive. With speed signs, the song stayin' alive, leisure suits and pot luck potato dishes since he says I never make him potatoes. Linda is making the cake. Should be fun!
Hey, I'm heading to Nashville for work early June---any of you there?
enjoy your today staying in Thursday

I also change drinking to thinking when I read the BB and AA's 12 x 12.
hi! for some reason you weren't on my reader - now you are :) thanks for alerting me.
sounds like a really fun party! looking forward to reading about it!
Thanks, Christine! I will inquire about it at my next meeting. They did give me a few pamphlets too that I haven't totally read through so I'll look through.
My husband will be 50 next April and refuses to allow me to throw a big bash. I figured I'd start slowly so this year I just surprised him by inviting one couple to his birthday dinner. Your party plans sound like fun.
Does your husband look like John Travolta by any chance?
You sound good darlin!!!
Down here, we call North of Dallas....Oklahoma ;)
