I put out a call for help. Now this is huge for me. Alanons of my type don't often ask for help being self sufficient independent I can do it myself kind of woman. My sister in law came the first night and helped by cleaning while I painted. The next night she brought an entire dinner and cleaned again. Said she'd come back to help again. I don't think I've ever helped anyone in quite the same way. I hope to remember how wonderful that kindness felt and help someone else in a similar fashion sometime.
Blessing.The party will happen tomorrow night ready or not. I hired a DJ from NA who has lights and a disco ball. Many are coming to help decorate the hall in the hour before the party. Linda's present is the cake. Karl and Janet are bringing their skeltons dressed for disco. I have the snacks, drinks, paper products, some decorations. Only had a few decline coming. Picking up DM's Saturday night white suit in the afternoon. Lily and family will be in for the weekend.
Bummer: The disco dress I found on ebay hasn't arrived. I just may have to go for the hippie look--gee that would be so out of character--HA!
Bummer: The previous owner took, lost, something the oven racks. Not an easy replace I'm finding I am spending too much time searching for 'em.
Bummer: None of my fmaily or friends from the Lehigh Valley are coming to the party.
Bummer: Haven't sold the townhouse---yet--

I like that you asked for help. I once had a therapist tell me to ask for what you need. Otherwise, no one will ever know. It was hard at first but now I do ask. It's much better than stewing over things.
I have a difficult time asking for help too. Why is that? I do not mind helping others but when it comes to me, I can't seem to do it. Oh well, that sort of deep soul searching is for another day. Have a great time with the party. Sounds fun.
That's a party that I would really like to attend!!!!
If I just happened to be passing thru...would it be appropriate to invite myself?
Not that I am....I just want to know for the future.
