Quickie: Tensions are running high right now, so try to take an impersonal point of view. Its not about me--

Seems that when I get around drinking I put on my coat of self righteousness and hyper vigilance. I tell myself its because of the children--who's watching the children? I wondered who is there to make sure the kids are ok, to watch the children?
And then I remember my lessons---and the one big lesson Lonny taught me--no one can stop bad things from happening. They have their own higher power and I'm not it.
Trying a new idea: My body hurts from playing and playing with Helena. My joy cup runneth over. Stay in the today, she is ok, I can't change Nik and he is ok today. Life will go on with and without me and sometimes it doesn't and then even I can be ok. Somehow--I can be ok today.

Bad things do happen, it hurts when we are personally affected. However, thru every single bad incident there is something beautiful borne. There is this balance that happens between bad and good, almost like one cannot exist without the other.
Your lesson you share is great! "They have their own higher power adn I'm not it." I too will try to echo this in my head the next time I come across a bad event.
Rest your body, I bet you had so much fun with Helena it was all worth it. They are little sponges, and such experiences will stay with her forever.
