for the birds
Last couple of days theres been a mocking bird on the top of what probably used to be a telephone pole. Mockingbirds mimic calls of other birds. So it sits atop this pole and does call after call never sounding the same twice in a row. Wonder if it has its own voice?
So this morning on a drive up state for a meeting I found myself thinking about the mocking bird. But I was more of a chameleon before Alanon, changing into whatever the latest charming, exciting badboy wanted me to be for him. And like the mcking bird I didn't really have a voice of my own.
Last evenings bike ride just a wimpy 6 miles. It was only my first time out and I shall get out there more often and go further. I cannot imagine marathons like Mary Christine--she is amazing what she can do.
Tonight we can have dinner here and open AA. I have missed being here for the last 2 Fridays. And tomorrow nite is birthday bowling--wonder if I'll break 70 this time? Its good fun and felowship.
Tomorrow morning there is a memorial service for longtimer Dale who died sober after surgery last Friday. I've known him pretty much since I came to WV, we both loved blues and enjoyed a Johnnie Johnson concert here in Fairmont where Johnnie was born and raised up. Dale was arrogant and he was always annoyingly talking about sex but he was a faithful AA who touched many lives. I'll miss seeing him. Hear tell of a big meeting in the sky--he's there if there is one...

The chameleon and the bad boy. Hmmm..I think that I know about that combination. Hope that the rest of your Friday goes well.
Ah yes, I remember the chameleon days.
MC is amazing. You are just starting and can be just as amazing. I believe it!
Sorry for your loss.
Ummm, Christine? Wimpy + 6 mile ride don't like, ummm go together... I'm just sayin'.
Have a great day you crazy gurl! Love and HUGS
We all have our "irritating traits," but boy, when one of our own leaves us, we forget all about that, don't we?
6 miles on a bike is nothing to sneeze at! Please don't disqualify what you do!
Yeah! What she said!
