still Sunday

I was late for church. Being late for anything is unusual for me. But i was late. I chose to go into a different door than I usually go thru and to sit in the back because I was late and not disturb others. So I sat in a place I don't usually sit. I can be a creature of habit and comfortableness so I have been sitting in the same pew behind and in front of the same people since I began going to this church. The same pew week after week whenever I am able to attend.

3/4 of the way thru the service I see and hear soemthing unusual. Look over as a woman shouts to call 911. Some doctors in the church went to help. The minister was calm and helped us remain calm. He asked us to pray with him then he asked us to pray and then leave quietly so the paramedics could do their work.

While I prayed for the man to be ok and his family to have the strength they may need---I also thanked my God that I was not sitting where I always sit just behind him and thank you for getting me out of the way. I tend to over react (betcha do believe that one!) but instead of overreacting, I got a chance to behave like a grown up tucked into my seat in the 2nd last pew.
I don't have to wonder if I'm taken care of---I know I am. Pray for Earl and his family, I don't know how he is.
